Local Fianna Fáil Councillor, Cormac Devlin has successfully had the old road sign for the Johnstown Road Improvement Scheme removed recently. It's removal has opened up the green open space at Maple Manor.
Question: Councillor Cormac Devlin
To ask the Manager to finally remove the "Johnstown Road Improvement Scheme" signage from outside Maple Manor Estate, Cabinteely?
Council Reply:
“Arrangements are currently being made with the Area Engineer to have the sign removed There is a requirement that promotion signs such as this for capital projects remain in place for 3 years following the completion of works. The Transportation Department are currently examining all such signs in the County with a view to removing those no longer required, in the
next few weeks. The sign identifying the Johnstown Road Scheme will be one of those removed.
