HISTORICAL WALK & PICNIC AT SHANGANAGH CASTLE
MONDAY MAY 1st @ 11am (Walk) or 2pm (Picnic)
The members of Shankill Tidy Towns are holding a guided walk and historical talk (at 11am) about the Shankill area (led by historian Rob Goodbody) followed by a picnic at Shanganagh Castle (at 2pm) on Monday May 1st, the Bank Holiday.
Please come along and bring your family to Shanganagh Castle (off the Bray Road) for 11am, park your car and if you wish to leave your picnic in same or in the allotments portacabin.
The walk will start from the Castle and will proceed to the Old Rathmichael Church and Graveyard and Rathmichael Ring Fort. The walk will take approximately 2 hours and unfortunately the walk is not sutiable for buggy's or small children.
Once back at the Castle, the picnic (weather permitting) will take place.
Shankill Tidy Towns hope to serve fresh tea or coffee from the portacabin and/or if you wish to bring along your own wine they can put it in the fridge for you.
If for your own good reasons, you can’t take part in the walk, you’re welcome to bring along your picnic at 2pm.
Alternatively you can order your picnic lunch for €6 from Brady's Pub by calling them directly on (01) 2820153 or The One Café on (01) 2826139 before 3pm on the 29th April and it will be waiting for you at the Castle on your return from the walk.
Come along and learn about the history of your area and meet friends, new and old. It promises to be a very interesting day. Please share this notice with friends and neighbours in the area. For more information click here
