The Council has advised that the following permanent changes to Monkstown Village which will be implemented on Wednesday morning, 16th August.
CLIFTON AVENUE:
The traffic flow will change along Clifton Avenue. It will cease to be a two-way system and it will now be a one-way system (going from the village towards Seapoint Avenue). You can view the plan for Clifton Avenue here. For pedestrians who walk down Clifton Avenue to cross to the DART station,I have requested the Council to install a proper pedestrian crossing from Clifton Avenue across Seapoint Avenue. A further up-date will issue on this issue shortly.
MONKSTOWN VILLAGE:
The road outside the Church of Ireland will change to a two-way traffic flow. This will then allow for the creation of a single lane of traffic in front of the shops beside Goggins Pub.
In April of this year, I held a public meeting for the residents of Monkstown about the proposed works taking place in Monkstown Village. From that meeting, I devised some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) which you can read the answers to them by clicking here. You can also view the traffic management and phased work schedule here
Works will continue on the village scheme. Traffic advisory signs have been deployed to inform local residents and local businesses about the above road layout changes. If you have any questions, please contact the Council directly on (01) 205 4375 or by email (click here)
