Having raised this issue in 2015, Cllr. Devlin once again requested the Council to write to the owners of these sites to ensure that they are cleaned-up. He has received several requests for the site to be tidied up and hopefully redeveloped. Here is the following question that Cllr. Devlin placed on the 5th February, 2018.
Councillor Cormac Devlin
To ask the Manager to once again engage with the relevant land owner(s) of; York House, York Road and Tivoli Lodge, Tivoli Road, Dún Laoghaire requesting them to clean up these prominent sites and will the Manager confirm if these locations will now be placed on the Derelict Sites register as they have been in a very unsightly condition for a number of years now (graffiti and rubbish) causing concern for local residents?
Council Reply:
Statutory Notices under Sections 8 and 11 of the Derelict Sites Act 1990 were served on the owner of York House, York Road, and Tivoli Lodge, Tivoli Road, Dun Laoghaire in December 2017. These Notices required that specified works be carried out within a 12 week period. If the owner fails to have the works carried out within the required time frame, the 2 properties will be entered onto the Council's Derelict Sites Register.
