DEVLIN RAISES CONCERN ABOUT TRAFFIC CONGESTION & THE TRAFFIC LIGHT SEQUENCE AT JUNCTION OF; MOUNTTOWN RD / KILL AVE / OLIVER PLUNKETT & GLENAGEARY RD UPPR:

Local Councillor, Cormac Devlin asked (on behalf of residents) the Manager to re-examine the traffic light sequence at the junction of this busy intersection as local residents are extremely concerned by the frequent backing-up of traffic along all associated roads at all times of the day. The Manager responded stating “The Traffic Section are monitoring this junction on an ongoing basis, the current traffic light sequence is the most efficient for the traffic flow through the junction. The Traffic Section have a CCTV camera at this junction and have not observed the "backing-up of traffic" at all times of the day that has been referred to. While queuing occurs on the Mounttown Road Lower at certain times and specifically during the evening peak, the signal sequence allows this approach to clear quickly.” The Manager subsequently agreed to review the sequence with a view to improving same.
